Heartland Meadow Retreat is surrounded by protected bushland and
rolling meadows that provide sanctuary for our rescued horses and
ponies.
We currently have 6 miniature ponies that were rescued from western
Queensland and 3 horses who incurred life changing injuries and came
to Heartland Meadows to rest, recover and spend the rest of their days
being loved and nurtured.
We also have 2 indoor cats rescued from the RSPCA and 2 dogs who like
to come and visit our guests at the retreat.
We are a registered “Land for Wildlife” property and in the early
mornings and at dusk, the wallabies come out to feed and play. Green
frogs are in abundance and the lorikeets and parrots often visit in
the afternoons. Occasionally deer and their young bambis come to visit
at the back of the property and we are currently developing a koala
corridor.
